Aria gives an error message saying it's not available in my region and referring to the FAQ for a list of regions the AI is unavailable in. However, there aren't any locations in the US listed there. I'm in Texas and do not have a VPN

I'm in the US, and say's it is not available in my area. So, sorry, can't leave any good feedback on the product. And yes, am logged in to the account.

I'm currently in Waco, TX. It had me go through all the crap of creating an account, verifying said account, phone number, etc. just to tell me this exact same message! 😫
So I opened Aria, received message, minimized Opera, turned on my VPN and selected any state But Texas, returned to this error message and retyped same question.... It worked! Turned off VPN, repeated. Stopped working 🤬

          My Suggestion:
Find a trustworthy VPN and simply connect to a different area. There are several really good free ones if you don't want to pay. Just don't use the VPN option within Opera, it doesn't help 😕

I know how to fix it.
Just enable VPN and run Aria and Opera VPN both
              For who need Aria
              🙂

@chris-ithink We really shouldn't have to use a VPN to bypass the georestriction in an allegedly supported country though...
It's been like that for three months and there's been no comment on this "bug". I filed a bug report but it has been marked as done without any comment (nor fix), it's disappointing to see they released that as a gimmick and not an actual feature they plan on supporting, it was promising.

I'm in San Antonio, Tx and just tried to use the Aria feature and got the same message. Not able to use in your area. Hope they get a fix.

It must be a Texas thing, I guess AI is not right for Texas?

I'm in Dallas Texas, it doesn't work (same error) without the VPN, but I turn on the VPN and it works like a charm. I don't even specify a region that I'm virtually in, it just pops up like nothing weird is going on.

I'm in North Texas and also am receiving the same issue with no VPN. Turning on the VPN throws an error.

I downloaded opera yesterday and have enjoyed it so far. Only thing is with Aria, for some reason, even though I am in the US will not allow me to use the AI stating, "This service is currently not available in your region. Available countries are listed in Aria's FAQ." I dont have a VPN on or anything else. Any suggestions?

Well I'll tag in. I'm in Houston and having the same issue showing not available to use aria.

Would really be nice if anyone acknowledged that this was even a known bug.

@aeroboy10 I should add that my iPad using the same opera account, can use aria.

So this seems to be related to an android issue.

@saphir in that case, perhaps this is only resolved on iPad os devices? I would assume all iOS platforms but we would need at least one example of it working on an iPhone or Mac.

@aeroboy10 Were you using WiFi in both cases? I just tried on my Android phone, over WiFi I have the same issue (not available in your region), but over mobile data it's working correctly.

@saphir I just tested on my android device and was unable to use aria both on WiFi(at&t fiber), as well as on mobile network (at&t). Both with and without opera VPN enabled.

I just performed the same test on an iPad the same way, both tests WiFi and cellular, failed. But with opera VPN enabled both succeeded.

This seems like perhaps a allow/disallow list for ip ranges per allocation. At&t IPs may not be allowed. (A prominent provider in texas for anyone reading)

This is inconsistent with my android device using opera VPN.

One last test I used another VPN provider on my android phone, aria worked. (USA exit point)

@aeroboy10 Yeah I use AT&T fiber too for Wi-Fi, but I don't use AT&T for mobile network, so the issue might indeed be that they're blocking one of the state's major Internet provider's IPs for some reason 😂
