extensions not passively working on background

extensions that track time on specific websites, like youtube tracker, it does not keep track of the time im spending while having other windows selected, not opera GX.
this is a problem because i work with youtube on the background yet i still need to keep track of the amount of time im spending on the website actively, but i dont have opera GX selected while working so it doesnt work.
is there a way to fix this, or is there nothing i can do?
