@burnout426 In the side menu, it is listed as "speed dial."

Hi, this button on side menu is problematic when someone not use this menu and this button open new window not back to speed dial in current window.

It would be nice if home button was return next to adress bar

@adamuspl The one on the side seems to open in the current window for me. It would be nice if one could rearrange the order or if you have many hidden the visible ones would join up so that the button I want is not at the very bottom of the screen.

@rgranger said in Return the speed dial button:

But that one opens a new tab instead of browsing to the speed dial page using the current tab. I prefer to reuse the current tab, because otherwise the number of tabs increases and increases...

@rgranger Hi, for me this button open new tab. I no need new tabs when finish browsing the website (and need close previous tabs manualy). And i no need sidebar so then it is close i don't have acces to this button. I preffer (and, i think, not only me) home button like before.
                  Regards

Bring back the Home Button (Speed Dial).
What's the point of removing it? It started with Opera GX, now with the main Opera when it switched to Opera One build.
All of the other mainstream browsers support the option to enable home button.

This new version of Opera is atrocious... No Home/Start button?!?! Seriously? This should be filed under "Un-Development"...

@leocg No, it is now on left side below and different behavior, previous- you are on same page, want to go to speed dial page behaving like a homepage, just one click. Now if you click ot that new not user friendly replaced speed dial button, it just open new page and close the one, you wanted to leave- two cliks on not practical placed speed dial button below on side bar

It’s not solution but extension from Google store „home button at top right” helps a little.

No better than any other browser without dial button.

Bring back the speed dial button (please). It was super practical. If some users don't want it, some others do. So, the compromise solution is to activate or deactivate it through the settings. And to be placed in the same place where it was, (or to be able to place it where the user want it). Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Can we please have the speed dial button on the address bar, as it is a pain to have to use the back button to get back to it? thank you

                                      @rgranger it's ridiculous.
I've instead added a bookmark in my bookmarks bar to send me to the Speed Dial page. (opera://startpageshared).

@jerkal1 Thanks, I did something similar based on your post. I have tried posting it but either I am banned or my account is hosed.
                                          Thanks!

I used "startpage" which gets changed from Opera... to Chrome when it is saved.

Yes, I also noticed that the old speed dial button that was next to the reload page button is missing.
When pressed, it replaced the current tab with the speed dial page. It was very practical
The new speed dial button does not do this. It just opens the speed dial page, without closing the page from the initial tab, it's not good. The initial tab remains open.
