What the heck, did that many people ask to have this removed. Was there too little space on that massive address bar. Someone wake up and say, "here is a feature that we can just remove..." What was the thought process?

It always insta-replaced the one you where in and the majority of users like it that way. I doubt there will be an option to change it to open a new tab.

Nuking the current tab just doesn't feel right.

On small screen like my i don't need bookmark or sidebar. I just want my most important button back.
This button did nothing wrong - removing it wasn't smart.

I never did when we had the speed-dial / home button. Now instead of a small button, I have a whole darn bar.
Opera: Again, if you don't want it on the top, allow us to add it to the side bar and pick the location..

You can place it on the left side so the muscle memory has adapt, too but the distance between old and new position is not too far away.

Now I have the extension installed that has it on the far right, screwing with my muscle memory a lot but I may get used to it.
But I don't want to get used to it, I want the original back.

On the right side, it has Pinboards, Snapshot, Privacy Protection, Send to My Flow, Add to bookmarks, Downloads, ... . I would happily trade each and all of them for the Speed Dial button and of course it should open in the current tab. If I want a new tab, I will press the "+".

Opera, you make a wonderful browser, but removing the Speed Dial button (or replacing it with a "new tab" clone on a sidebar which either have to take space from my browsing or "auto appear" which drives me crazy) is a massive blunder. Please, fix this ASAP!
