History deletion isn't working (task bar history very slow)

When I'm trying to quick close some of my history through the task bar on the side of opera GX it takes an incredible amount of time. As soon as I hit the x button to delete history, it takes around 10+ seconds before I can press x on another that I want to delete.
the "recently closed" part of the history "extension? tab" works perfectly fine and I can close as many recently closed tabs as I please. the problem is specific to the part below,starting from "today" and onwards. wat do?

this is the exact issue im having with my opera browser, is there any fix to this issue/bug?
