Is it possible to fix opera 25 fonts ?

Deleted User last edited byI'm trying to migrate to opera 25 from opera 12 but the fonts are killing my eyes, is there any way to fix them ? The default fonts are really messed up, DirectWrite improves thing a bit but it's still very unpleasant to read text, the subpixel rendering doesn't seem to work correctly. You can see a comparison of opera 12 (top), firefox (both are nearly identical), then opera 25, and finally opera 25 with DirectWrite on: http://i.imgur.com/bXTMjVC.png (zoom on it if you don't see the differences).

donq last edited byWhat about Chrome/Chromium?
In my old XP (this is unfortunately not representative) Opera fonts look as usual. Image you linked looks like Windows font optimizations (hinted shift of font elements to full pixel - two first samples) are somehow turned off. DirectWrite is ugly as well, but atleast hinted properly.

Deleted User last edited byI don't know about Chrome. I have subpixel font smoothing activated (windows 7) but it's true that if I deactivate it then all software looks equally horrible. So it seems Opera is not interacting nicely with Windows subpixel rendering for some reason.

Deleted User last edited byI think that is Opera Forum problem because in others sites it is ok. Or it can be my computer because the fonts are in Opera browser for android.

falloutboy09 last edited byHmm, I dont seem to have that issue.
Especially not in the profile, the font and text look totally different at my Opera 25 (Windows 7)http://www.mysoldier.de/fileadmin/userstorages/falloutboy84/BugReport/Opera_25/fonts-render.JPG

Deleted User last edited byMay be a DriectWrite font rendering issue (Untested) M) - Open opera://flags/#disable-direct-write
- Enable Disable DirectWrite
- Restart Opera
Or this setting for alternative font anti-aliasing may help.
 Open opera://flags/#lcd-text-aa
and try some changes, but dont forget to restart Opera between the testing.

Deleted User last edited byYou have the same problem that I posted in the first message, there's just something wrong in the way Opera render fonts, and that they need to fix.

Deleted User last edited byThe main problem is that once you've noticed it, it's really hard to ignore...

Deleted User last edited byIt's not site specific no, but it's more noticeable depending on the font size, color and type.
