Your version of Windows : 11

Your version of Opera : 95.0.4635.37

A description of the problem, including as much as information as possible :

In every other modern browser, you can select a text from a website, and drag-drop it on the top bar (where tabs are) and it searches the dragged text in the default search engine, or if it's a url, opens it. That's where Opera's problem is, it does open the link, but it has some opinions on which tab it will open, I couldn't find any pattern for that so I'm guessing it's by random. And frankly I find it absolutely infuriating.

Steps to reproduce the issue :

      • Have 2 tabs open in Opera
      • Get on a website on a third tab
      • Select a word in the website by dragging your mouse or double clicking on it.
      • Drag the selected text on top of the browser, and drop it on either a certain tab, or on the empty space on right side of the tabs.
      • Watch opera search the text in a totally random tab.

Expected behavior and actual one :
Every other browser searches the dragged text in 2 ways,
if it's dropped on a tab : searches it on the "dropped" tab,
if it's dropped on the empty space : creates a new tab and searches on that.

That's the way Opera 96.0.4693.20 on Win 11 22H2 works for me. The difference between Opera and Chrome for me is that you can't drop to the right of the new tab "+" button. You have to drop between the last tab and the "+" button if you want to open the search in a new tab as the last tab.

In Opera, I can also drop the select text in between 2 tabs to have it open in a new tab between those 2 tabs. In Chrome though, it's easier to tell when you're between 2 tabs as Chrome has an arror that shows the insertion spot on the tab bar.
