Blank tab when trying to use Google Docs

Whenever I try to use Google Docs on my Opera browser, a blank tab with Untitled opens and spawns a new Opera window. I can then create a document/sheet which is not accessible again after I've created it because I only see the document not My Drive.

This is forcing me to use an alternative browser for anything that requires Google Docs
