Opera 12 for Win 2000 install hangs

I am trying to install Opera on an ancient computer running Win 2K Pro (32 bit). I found posts that say Opera 12 is the right browser for this OS. I downloaded the install package from the Opera website 'archives' pages and put the install file (Opera_1200_int_Setup.exe) onto a removable drive (a CF card that the computer 'thinks' is an IDE Hard Drive; Drive D:). Running this file gives an error message that a .dll file is not found. Is there a complete install package for Opera 12 that does not need to download anything else? I have also tried to use the ancient Internet Explorer (v.5) to go to the Opera website and download and install Opera... IE5 has a broken display of the website and will not download. Is there something portable that will run on Win2K and will allow me to bootstrap up to a fully installed Opera 12 browser?

@johndean1940 Does the error message say what is the name of the missing DLL?
Opera 12.02 is the highest version that is supposed to be able to install and run on Win2000 - though it's unclear whether there may be problems with some Win2000 vintages. If 12.02 won't work, Opera 11.64 was the usual alternative Opera version in the past for users of Win2000.
