I might have to switch to chrome if this continues.
Set Chrome as the default browser on Windows for a tad and see if it starts opening new windows all the time. Then, at least you'll know it's not Opera specifically but something (malware maybe) targeting the default browser.

I too has this bug, it's happening both to my bedside laptop and desktop. However not as often as you I think, and usually no more than 1 extra window. Every time I go to bed I have to close an opera window. and the window is allways the defult new tab in in new window page.

I have been running into the exact same problem, sometimes as many as 3 times a day.
Opera is not my default browser, it just opens to my blank home page. no other browser does this and this behavior continues, even when setting opera as my default browser.
My only installed extentions are Opera add blocker (enabled) and opera wallet (disabled).
I am currently testing if it still happens with add blocker disabled.

Disabled the Add blocker as well, still occurred multiple times.

Hi. I also hate it but then i found a solution, which was to disable the adblocker multiple times before starting the Windows. Hope you resolve this matter promptly.
