Opera not accepting payment info

occasionally when I shop online a payment screen will refuse to accept my card information and will simply reset the payment screen. When this happens I have to either reset my cookies (which I don't want to do) or use another browser
Running Win 11, got the latest version of Opera, and everything else looks good

any thoughts gratefully received!
