Logging into account used for syncing only restores passwords

Had to reinstall opera on Huawei tablet JDN2-L09 (android 9) cause the app became too bloated with no means to clean. Made sure everything is synced beforehand. On top of that, just to be safe, imported tablet's passwords/bookmarks/speed dial onto an old smartphone.
Reinstalled opera's app (latest version 72.3.3767.68685), logged into the account used for syncing, got my passwords, but no bookmarks and no "other speed dials", where there should be at least 3 other devices.
Tried to connect devices (tablet and smartphone) manually by scanning provided QR codes either way. But even if I got the "awesome, they're connected, you can access bookmarks, passwords etc blah blah blah" message, neither devices appeared in the other's "other speed dials". The only thing this "connecting" done was enabling the flow feature.
If I tap email for my account in the menu in the upper left corner (where it says "sync on" below), it opens web version and shows me a bunch of info I can change ("here's what you can do with your Opera account"). If I scroll to the bottom there's an option to "view your synchronized data", but that's it. It's all there, but I can only VIEW it. Can't import it in any way.
What the hell am I supposed to do?
