Hello, as of this morning, my Opera installation has started automatically adding the 'm.' prefix to YouTube, despite my closing Opera down, and restarting the PC.
Other browser are opening YouTube normally.

      I am running Version:92.0.4561.43.

Can anyone suggest a fix, please?.

      Thank you :).

Goto the URL opera://settings/siteData, type youtube.com in the search-cookies field, and choose "remove all shown". Then, repeat for google.com.

If that doesn't do the trick, goto the URL opera://settings/clearBrowserData and delete cached images and files for all time.

If that doesn't do the trick, disable your extensions on by one to see if one is causing it.

If that doesn't do the trick, try with Opera's adblocking and tracking protection turned off.

If that doesn't do the trick and you have Opera's VPN turned on, test with it off.

          Hello,

I've tried all of the above, that hasn't helped sadly.

@bristolian Does it work fine in a private window?

            In a test standalone installation?

@bristolian Hmm. That implies it's an extension or cookie or cache issue. But, you said you already cleared cookies for youtube.com and your cache and disabled all of your extensions, so I'm not sure.

In a regular window goto Youtube again. When on the page, sign out if you're signed in. Then, press ctrl + shift + i to open the developer tools and click "application" in the menu to switch to the application settings. In the left-hand pane, click "storage" to select it, and then check every box after the "clear site data" button in the right-hand pane. Then, click the clear site data button. Then open a new tab and type https://www.youtube.com/ in the address field and press enter.

If you still get redirected to m.youtube.com, goto the URL opera://history, search for m.youtube.com entries and remove them all. Then try going to Youtube again.

Thank you very much for that, that has worked.
Have you any idea as to why it could have happened in the first place?.

                  🙂

The developer tools part or clearing history?

                    Not really.
