For the past couple of days Opera has been notifying me to update my browser, I do so but a few minutes later I get that red dot notifying me to update Opera again. This has happened about ten times or so now. What is going on and how can I fix this? Any help in this matter would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

The following should straighten things out:

        • Download the Opera installer.

        • Goto the URL opera://about, take note of the "install" path, and close Opera.

        • Uninstall Opera but don't choose to delete your data when asked.

        • After the uninstallation is complete, in Windows Explorer (File Explorer), with hidden items and file extensions enabled under view -> show, check to see if the install folder remains. If so, delete the folder.

        • Still in Windows Explorer, browse to "C:\Windows\temp", hit ctrl + a in it to select everything in it, and press del to delete the selection. If Windows won't let you delete something in the temp folder, don't worry about it and just skip that item.

        • Browse to "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\temp", and delete everything in it.

        • Launch the Opera installer, click "options", review and adjust the install settings, and then install.

        • Once Opera starts up, give it about 30 seconds, goto the URL opera://about, and check for updates.

        • Then, goto the URL opera://extensions, turn on developer mode, and click the "Update" button.

@docforbin Or if that seems a bit of a faff, you could just search for updates via 'update and recovery' and if that doesn't work do an Opera refresh on the same page. You will lose some of your settings but these are quite easy to put back and you don't need to be a tech genius to complete the task. This worked a treat for me and took me 5 minutes (including putting my preferred settings back).
