53 of my 62 saved passwords have vanished after a recent crash(in the last hour), it just so happens the 9 that remain are ones I rarely use, if at all.
Anybody any idea what's happened, and will I be able to get them back??
I was only able to log-in to this forum because my password is obvious(well to me)
Any help appreciated.
Stable 90.0.4480.103 - which was automatically updated when I turned my laptop off on the 13/09.

The crash could have wiped out those 53 entries in the "Login Data" file in your Opera profile folder (goto the URL
opera://about
for the location). Or, it could have corrupted the Login Data file in a way where those 53 passwords are no longer available. Or, the crash could have caused a change to the key in the "Local State" file that's used for encrypting passwords at some point causing 53 of your passwords to be encrypted with the old, now-invalid key, and the rest of the passwords be encrypted with the new key. It's very uncertain what happened. Also, if you're using Opera Sync and syncing passwords, the crash could have caused Sync to mess up the passwords.
Long story short though, what you see at the URL
opera://settings/passwords
, is what's accessible in the "Login Data" file. Any other passwords, even if they're stuck in the "Login Data" file somewhere, are no longer able to be decrypted unless you have a backup of the "Local State" file before the crash where you can try using it and a copy of your "Login Data" file to see what Opera can access. Short of that, you're out of luck.I guess if you synced your passwords with Opera Sync before the crash, you can goto the URL https://www.sync.opera.com/ and check the count of how many passwords are stored on the server. If it's a lot, you might be able to log into Sync in a standalone installation and get all or some of your passwords back.
If you've ever exported your passwords to a CSV file, you can import that back into Opera.

Note that with a crash causing missing passwords, there's a very good chance other things are messed up in your Opera profile too. The only way to be sure your profile is all good is to export the few things you can and start with a new one. That's up to you though.
Also note that Opera is currently at 92.0.4561.43. Not sure what version you have now.
