Enhanced Address bar kills gmail makes opera very slow

The only way I can use the Enhanced Address bar is if I am not using my gmail account or any other google feature. If I disable it in settings (i had to search for because "advanced" does not exist anymore) then everything works fine.

If I enable it, gmail feels like its running on Zilog Z80 processor and I am connected with a 300 baud modem.

Does anybody know a work around?
