Opera Sync does not do its job

It says that it "bookmarks, Speed Dials, history, passwords, and open tabs across multiple devices" is the exact words used. I don't use bookmarks so I don't know about that. But it 100% of the time will not sync open tabs. Passwords it does sync. But Speed dials and open tabs are just ignored. I have 106 tabs open. WTF is my sync at?? My windows 10 laptop will not sync with my windows 10 desktop. Just like how my android phone opera will not sync tabs and speed dials with my android tablet. WTF is this so complicated?? Opera obviously sucks at doing this. Totally wish they just made it so I can copy the Opera install folder and paste it on the new device so that you still have your browser with open tabs and all. Its just a browser. Why are my tabs and speed dials under so much lock and key? When I install a browser....I don't plan on keeping it on the device forever. Devices break or you get a new one or you get and additional device. Your going to want to move or mirror your browser. One user should not be forced into having 2 separate browser sessions. I am using the same browser while running the same Operating system of Windows 10 64 bit while on the same network and wired connected and in the same house as both devices while logged in on both devices at the same time and set to sync everything. Nothing syncs though. On the opera sync page it says my synchronized content is 1 tab and one device. Weird being as I have one laptop, one desktop, one windows tablet, 2 android tablets, and 3 phones all running Opera. I'm pretty sure sync don't work unless something is wrong with literally every device I own. I only use Opera because its pretty. Chrome and Mozilla and Brave and plenty others are dramatically better. Just not as pretty. They better fix the sync soon cause I can always use the other browsers and just modify them to look better. I just didn't feel like it since Opera already was a nice design. But looking pretty ain't nothing if you don't work. Who wants a Ferrari that will never drive??

@blkblazzin420 You can see opened tabs from other installations by clicking on the tabs icon in sidebar.
If you are on mobile, click on the tabs icon and then on synced tabs one in the bottom left.Opera doesn't automatically open/populates the synced opened tabs.

@leocg I tried that. But it doesn't work. I spent about an hour googling and trying different things that others posted because I am not the only one having this issue. Thanks for the suggestion though. I appreciate it. These days companies don't help me. The community does. Sometimes anyway. There are some freaking mean people in the online communities that basically treat you like a moron because you asked a question despite them not being obligated to help. They respond as if you are forcing them to help you. So I totally appreciate your suggestion cause you didn't have to comment. Thank you for that. I mentioned in my post that I have 106 tabs open. But when I sign in top the Opera page it says it sees only 1 tab and one device despite me having 106 open and 8 devices all logged in to Opera and set to sync. But it took less than 5 mins to transfer over to google chrome. And I didn't have to sync a single thing. The moment I logged in all devices were synced. I know sync works because it used to work for me. Not sure what happened. And I am sure I can research it and diagnose the problem with trial and error and testing and what not. But I am the end user. I just wanted a working browser. I only get the weekends off. I don't want to waste time diagnosing my browser. You know what I mean? I don't hate Opera. Its my favorite browser. But I will use Google till they fix this if they ever do. I hope they do. Cause chrome works great. But I don't trust Google. I have to search with DuckDuckGo to get untailored non-bias search results.

@blkblazzin420 First, a little tip: please try to use paragraphs, your text is very difficult to read and understand.
In opera://sync-internals/, there is a board on the right that should show you if sync is working in that installation.

@leocg Thanks I guess. I do realize that I type big fat walls of text with no separation and for that I apologize. But i'm gonna be honest here. I will never break my typing down to bite sized piece because when I typed it....I had no plans to go back for proofreading. Not cause I am mean or anything. But...I'm not an editor. Just casually typing. And I very rarely have problems with tech that I feel I should write about it. But when I do I just write. And if anyone wants to read that....its their choice. Not an obligation. I have never had a problem reading words so thats how I type. But I will never ask a person to change their vernacular or how they type because it makes it easy for me. If it was my job it would be different. I will add that I appreciate how you talk to people. You mentioned it like a tip of advice. Most of the time people demand a request like that. You are a kind individual. In opera://sync-internals/, there is a board on the right that should show you if sync is working in that installation. Yeah there is. But my sync only sees 1 open tab and one device despite my 106 tabs and 8 devices. I have been on a computer since win 95. I write in 10 programming languages and I build custom computers for a living and repair them down to the component level. I am not saying I am an expert in the field. But I am confident when I say sync is broken. For me it is anyway. I don't even need them to fix it. Only reason I wrote is because it would be nice if they did. Its my favorite browser. But I won't die from it. I am really raw in how I talk so it may come across as mean or something. I am just really blunt is all. I don't sugar coat ever. I say what I think and move on. I won't have a problem adapting to this. If fact I wrote a script to keep track of my open tabs on all my browsers so that I can open them in any browser with a click. Now to get it to work on all my devices cause it only works on my laptop. Sometimes a piece of software works perfectly fine for all except that small handful that have a particular set of hardware or maybe software that causes issues for another software. Opera sync might be victim to that. Who knows. I won't die. I changed to Chrome this weekend and still have been using Opera despite that. Humans do weird things sometimes

And Sync is working flawlessly now. Not sure what they did. Maybe it was the last update. But it works. I changed nothing. So to all those that read this thinking "he needs to do this and that"....well....told you it was broken. And they fixed it. And I didn't change a single thing. Now it sees all my devices and now it shows all my opened tabs. Let me repeat that I changed nothing. Opera changed stuff. I changed nothing. Told you it was broken. This is why they at Opera engineer the stuff and all those that told me I was using it wrong...well...you do not engineer the stuff. 100% of the time I voice my complaints. 100% if users see the complaint they tell me I am doing something wrong. And 100% of the time the company fixes what I complained about. Not once has this not worked for me. Often I get called out for not editing my posts everywhere I go. Thats not my job. Why would I do that? I'm not a journalist. I'm a consumer. I feel like people divert to that because there is nothing else to point out. Cause everything I said was correct. So the only thing left to nitpick is the paragraph. Its laughable honestly. Cause in the end....I was still right. So I did not have to use Google Chrome for long at all. Because the sync problem was quickly fixed.

@blkblazzin420 I agree that Sync is not working. I have logged in to Opera on all my devices: iPhone, iMac, MacBook Air, and none of the Opera browsers match. The one on the iMac was the first browser I set up and the Speed Dial, tabs, passwords, and bookmarks are what I'd like to see in the Opera browser on my other devices. I don't get any of the Speed Dial entries, bookmarks, or tabs on the browsers on the other devices.
I have made the settings for Sync in each browser so that all data should be synced but how do I get it to sync? I have clicked the "Synchronize your data" button on the "You're now logged in" page but nothing happens except to take me to the "Advanced sync settings" page, which I've already set up. I've selected Sync everything and I've tried selecting the Customize sync selection in each devices' browser and nothing syncs. It seems the Do not sync data selection is permanently set.
