      Hello everyone,

Since last week or so, Opera Next won't stop crashing on my Mac. I assume it's because I'm using Yosemite developer preview 😞 (it's been very unstable since I installed it).
Any ideas? It was working two or three weeks ago...
If not, I hope there's an update coming (bored of using Safari).

      Thanks !

Try upgrading to Opera beta (Opera Next was recently rebranded as Opera beta).

Does it work from the system’s Guest account (System Preferences: Accounts)?

Having the same issue with Opera Beta 25.0.1614.35 and Yosemite developer preview 5. It's crashing even when I do nothing and Opera sits in the background doing nothing. Something around 4-5 times per hour. Tried disabling/removing all extensions I have. No luck. Haven't tried with a Guest account yet.

Here is a crashlog of the latest crash I had a couple of minutes ago: http://pastebin.com/rHKCVWU8

not to +1, but +1. Same setup as squ1b3r, same crash.

We are experience somewhat of a same issue where whenever we open our website www.midgr.com using Opera browser for Blackberry, it crashes. Moreover the site doesn't load on a Sony TV.

                Any flags turned on?

Also check that the plug ins are updated

Auto updated to 25.0.1614.50 on Mavericks had same problem. Crashing all the time and always when pasting a URL into the address bar. Even tried uninstalling everything and installed from scratch, no go!
Re-installed 24.0.1558.64 and disabled auto-update and no problems.

Opera beta crashed excessively, every 5 minutes or so, after Yosemite upgrade. Had a similar problem on Mavericks too. So I switched to Opera Dev 26.0.1655 have not experienced any crashes.

25.0.1614.50 has been rock solid on Yosemite (The last build before GM, too lazy to update right now.) not a single crash.

I've got 25.0.1614.35 and it About shows me that my Opera Beta is up to date.
Yesterday I've updated to Yosemite and Opera started to crash every other minute. Previously I saw no single crash on Mavericks.

Just in case, here is crash report from latest crash, if it helps http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=1sSAc3NY

I have exactly the same issue. I had crashes before, but that was because of the flash plugin. But this one is different (thread 0) My crashlog http://pastebin.com/4VCUaePt

Same here. Crashing like crazy ever since upgrading to Yosemite. Using the Beta channel, which I believe is currently at the same version as stabile? Here's a log as well: http://pastebin.com/zHVsuLvP

I've got no such issues using the Developer version (version 26.0.1655.0). And yes, I'm also on Yosemite right now. You don't need to be a developer to use it. And it actually has some useful features that anyone will want to use, compared to the regular version.
If you wanna give it a try, here is the link: http://www.opera.com/developer.

By the way, I've got no stability issues whatsoever with this build. So I say: go for it. 🙂

I'm also having this problem. For the first time since I started using Opera, it's actually unusable, not just unstable or slow or buggy. Crashing every other minute. I don't want to change to another update stream because the beta has stuff like scores in games and other settings (cookies) that don't transfer. Hopefully either the next beta update or the next yosemite update will fix it.

Thank you for the suggestion arsradu. Though when it comes down to switching, it'll probably be to Safari and not to another (potentially even more) unstable platform.

I tried resetting all flags (only had a few of them set) and the crashing got a lot more sparse. It still happens from time-to-time, but nearly not as much as used to.

Man, I gotta be honest with you. At first, I had the original version (I think it's 25...something). And the ONLY crashes I had were related to Flash. That's all. Nothing else. The reason why I installed and recommended upgrade to Opera Developer (version 26) is the fact that I really needed the Sync features that the regular build doesn't seem to have. But other than that...I had no issues whatsoever. So I'm not sure what is everybody complaining about here. And I'm willing to reinstall that version just to test this. But, to be honest, I think the crashes might be generated by something else.

So, I would recommend updating the Flash Plugin to the latest BETA (yes, BETA) version. You will have no more Shockwave crashes and, probably no more other kind of crashes either. Hope it helps.

By the way, I wouldn't recommend going back to Safari. 🙂

I, too, am having problems with random crashes. I added the new Norton 360 last week but nothing else new. Doesn't seem to matter what tabs I have open it crashes randomly even when not in use.

Hey everyone, arsradu's suggestion of installing the new flash player (15 beta) worked for me (at least for now).
