Password importing not working

I'm trying to import from a CSV file but nothing's happening. Can import just fine on other browsers (tried on Vivaldi and Firefox) but not on Opera.

Importing a password csv file works fine for me with Opera 86.0.4363.59 64-bit on Windows 11 Version 21H2 (Build 22000.675).

Does importing into a test standalone installation work at least?

@dy4y Do you need to know how to delete your profile for your regular Opera so Opera creates a new one or how to fix the issue with the existing problem profile?

@dy4y Goto the URL
opera://settings/passwords
, click the 3 dots to the right of "saved passwords``` and export your passwords to a csv file. Open that csv file with a text editor to make sure you see your already-stored usernames and passwords in there. If you don't have any stored yet, you can skip this part. Then, goto the URL
opera://about
, take note of the "profile" path, and close Opera.Make a copy of the profile folder for good measure. Then, in the profile folder, delete the "Login Data" file.
Then, start Opera, goto the URL
opera://flags/#password-import
and make sure the import flag is enabled. If it's not, enable it and restart Opera. Then, goto the URL
opera://settings/passwords
, click the 3 dots to the right of "saved passwords", and choose to import your csv file. It should import then. If not, we can try something else. -

@burnout426 Thanks a lot for that, definitely the most clear and simple answer to the problem. Cant wait to use this browser!

@burnout426 Thanks for providing such clear instructions
I was able to follow all of the steps with ease, however, when I selected the file to import and clicked the open button to start the import nothing happens. I don't get an error message and the passwords don't show up on the list.
Any ideas?

Yes.

Open the csv file in a text editor and make sure your passwords are actually there.

If importing doesn't work, it's likely your password file is corrupted or encrypted with the wrong credentials. To fix that, goto the URL
opera://about
, take note of the "profile" path, close Opera, and delete the "Login Data" file in the profile folder (you'll lose any existing passwords in Opera). Then, start Opera and try the import again. -
If you're using Opera Sync and syncing passwords and or settings, log out of Sync and import to see if then import then. If so, log back into Sync and test if the disappear. Also note that with Sync, weird stuff can happen. So, if you have passwords synced already, make sure you back them up.
