Hi from Spain! please can someone help me? i don't know the reason, but before i could drag the "URL" from the search box (or addresses) to the bookmarks bar, now when i click on the bar, the last 4 searches are displayed, this tab was not active before! now it covers the bookmarks and makes it impossible to drag the url link to the bookmarks bar!.... i don't understand why this happens, it didn't happen before, is there an option to return to its previous state? i want to disable this tab with last searches but i can't find options that correspond to its disabling!!! help! please!

I'm having this exact same problem! It makes me want to tear my damn hair out! It only recently started happening about a month ago. I disabled everything here: "opera://flags/#enhanced-address-bar" and it still happens! There's No Way to get that damn bar to go away once you hold onto the link. The only way to add it as a bookmark is to copy it then right click the bookmarks bar then create a new bookmark that way.
        Hello devs??

@matt561898498 You bookmark a page by clicking on the heart icon on the right of address bar.

@leocg yeah I know that, I just forgot to include it in one of the longer ways to add bookmarks. Ok what about the original point of the thread? I have folders within folders within folders organised, I used to be able to simply drag a link to whichever folder I desire with only 1 finger and 1 action. Now I have to perform multiple actions to do the same thing.

Confirmed. Looks like Opera will need to be improved to close the drop-down when you start dragging.

You could click the x for each recent search in the drop-down till there are no more. Then, the drop-down won't show when you click the address field.

For now, you can drag the badge at the left of the address filed (the padlock usually) to bookmark the page. You can also drag the tab itself to the bookmarks bar (when there's more than one tab opened in a window).

@yonathanrm In Opera developer, in the address field drop-down, there's a gear icon. If you click it, you can click "Disable suggestions before typing" to get rid of this issue.

As said, the gear icon in the drop-down is only available in Opera Developer so far.

My browser no longer does this. I didn't change anything, it just randomly fixed itself. The dropdown menu only appears when i begin typing, but I'm now able to drag urls to the bookmark menu uninhibited.

@matt561898498 My "Opera gx" keeps doing it... the only solution is to delete the last searches by clicking on the "X" button that appears over each suggestion when you hover the mouse pointer over it, but I'm a bit fed up with it.

Ignore my previous post. The problem has returned. It only temporarily fixed itself for some unknown reason. It even happens on my wife's computer! But doesn't happen on my Microsoft Surface Pro 7 (for now)

@matt561898498 I like Opera GX, but if it continues like this, I'll have to consider changing browser! because I'm fed up with that drop-down crap and having to delete with the "X" every search... I still can't disable it, and no developer deigns to answer here!
