sign in stalls but receives my data - spinning circle

Android 7.1.1 on a Lenovo Yoga tablet
Opera version 67.1.3508.63168

The Sign in... just sits there and eventually times out, but as you can see below it retrieves some of my data (and I get emails saying a sign in has occurred).

If I tap anything there I'm stuck in a GroundhogDay loop

This is frustrating and I must say a put off. I created the account simply to enable me to backup my "Home page" short cuts

I'm entirely able to sign in using Opera Mini on my (older Android version) phone and this laptop (windows 10).

What can I do so that I don't lose these shortcuts?

@pellicle Any luck on figuring this out? I just recently installed it on my S6 tablet and getting the exact same thing.

Hey @emmortal ... nope no luck have given up after a few days of searching on Google and basically no answers here.
I've kept Opera on my tablet but have deleted it on my phone because it seems like an orphan that nobody is caring for.
