Opera Freezes within Two Minutes

Each time I try opening Opera, and with every new updated version, for the last several times, I can't get Opera to open for more than a minute or two, before it becomes non-responsive, runs up all my CPU usage, and has to be force quit!
I used to use Opera for many years, until this began to happen. And with each new version I hope it'll be the one that fixes whatever is causing this. I've tried trashing the app, and installing it fresh, but that didn't change anything. I'm thinking of trying it again, just out of desperation. All other browsers work with my iMac, just not Opera.
What could possibly be causing this, and is there an uninstaller app that I can use to rid my computer of the entire app, and its folders, etc?

@stevenjcee Well, I uninstalled Opera, then tried to do a fresh install, and for some reason, it opened with my information still contained, and still froze up within a minute! WTH?
