Perhaps it was after the update to Opera 24 for Mac OS X (Snow Leopard), dunno, but now every time I try to view or download an email attachment, Opera throws me to Google docs viewer and I get a message that it's unavailable. I do not, and have never used Google docs. What's happening here? How to fix it? I don't see any options in preferences that might fix it.

        Are you using any extensions?
        Documents for example?

Yes, I did add that one recently. Is it the cause?

I disabled Documents extension and now the attachments are downloading and viewable. So do I just dump the Documents extension?

              Yes.
The extension tries to show documents in Google Docs Viewer (as stated at the very bottom of its description).
Unfortunately, this only works with documents that are freely accessible to anyone. Google Docs Viewer doesn't have the rights to access your email attachments. That's why it fails to display it.

Maybe I'll push an update to Documents that displays exactly that explanation instead of Google's default text so people like you don't get confused... 😉
