Opera crashed when downloading files

A few days ago, Opera began locking up and crashing whenever I tried to download files from Dropbox, Google Docs, and any other download source. When I try to start a download, I get the standard pop up screen asking me where I want to download the file. Instead of the standard Windows Explorer screen, I get a partial explorer screen that doesn't show any of my hard drives. After few moments I get a 'not responding' indicator and then everything locks up. I go to "clt-alt-del" for the task manager and it shows that Opera is using a ton of memory and I then have to close Opera from the task manager screen. I'm using version 84.0.4316.31. I've tried resetting and still have the same problem.
