Opera never issues ETAs. So don't waste your breath asking about it.

Hi @kroppy: regarding "Sidebar for bookmarks/tabs/history", you can try the "Tidy Sidebar" extension:

To install it, you need install first one of the extensions: "Extension source viewer", or "Download Chrome Extension"

Small tip: after you install it, you can easy switch on/off the sidebar - just press Alt+A, or click the Tidy's button on the toolbar \m/

I don't know why, but Tidy Sidebar messes up tabs order when restarting... And I wan't it in the same window! But anyway, yes, I tried it and that is exactly what I'd like to have in Opera, apart that it is in a separated pop-up window and minimum width is around 288px plus wasted pixels for borders which makes it too big. Opera can't be maximized and so on...
