I have tried the usual ways to make Opera my drfault browswe on Win 7, but no joy
I have tried-:
-
Opera > Settings > Default Browser > Make Default
-
Windows Start Button > Control Panel > Default Programs >
Opera does not appear in Set your default programs list
Each time I start Opera, a prompt bar appears asking to make it default browser.
I select yes, on restarting Opera, same request.
If I select the "X", on restarting Opera, same request.
( Going around in circles, driving me mad)The same problems exist for Vivaldi, but not firefox or Microsoft Edge.
I am using Opera v82.0.4227.43
Any help appreciated.

Download the offline installer (the 64-bit one if you're using Windows 7 64-bit) from https://www.opera.com/download, close Opera, and uninstall Opera (don't choose to delete your data when uninstalling). Then, launch the Opera installer, click "options", set "install path" to "C:\Program Files\Opera", set "install for" to "all users", check "Make Opera the default browser", uncheck "import data from default browser", and install.
Then, Opera should stop bugging you and Opera will appear in Default Programs.
