Tab strip change size when I close a tab

In 81.0.4196.60 whenever I close a tab in the tabstrip, the size of the tabs remained the same (I usually have a lot of open tabs so they're smaller) until i moved the cursor away. But now since 82.0.4227.23, it resizes immediately, and it's very irritating when I want to close multiple tabs one after the other. Is there a way to get back the old way?
The situation is the same on both of my computers, the problem only occures after updating to 82.My data:
Windows 10
Opera 82.0.4227.23
How it works now
How it used to (and I want to) work -

As of 83.0.4254.27 Opera realised they messed up and fixed the problem they created.

@csongor242 yeah, except not quite
the tab won't change its size... as long as you keep your cursor in place, as soon as you move to a different tab they change as if you left the tab bar
also i just checked the changelog, apparently it was fixed in version 83.0.4254.14 – 2022-01-05 - DNA-96822 Tab close resize behavior changeeither way, technically it's fixed, but it's still just not there with a different issue now
man, i'm confused, are we in the minority that see that this is broken or something? how can it be that the devs still didn't notice such an obvious problem, do they actually use chrome or firefox themselves or what

@qrcze112 For good measure, could you please provide a video demo? Thanks.

@burnout426 actually, my bad, i didn't test it enough and described it slightly incorrectly
it resizes when you click on a different tab after closing one, so it's a bit more specificand here's the vid showing the difference:

@qrcze112 Yes, I can confirm. The resize of the tabs is supposed to be delayed until you mouse out of the tab bar. But, in Opera, switching to a different tab also triggers the resize.
