Speed Dial opens straight to Gmail

I did a bit of search on the web, but it seems this is a one-of-a-kind prob.

I still cannot understand why, bit whenever I hit a new tab, what I get is my Gmail panel and not the standard Sped Dial with the search bar, website shortcuts etc. What is even more strange is the the tab thumbnail shows Speed Dial (you know, the four-squares icon).

@operant Did you check with all extensions disabled?
