[Solved]Tripadvisor takes over new page.

When working the Opera Browser & I open a new window I see Tripadvisor appears to have hijacked my start page. Most infuriating & confusing. Looked through settings & speed dial but cannot get it back to the original picture & the shortcuts it had pinned. Any ideas how to rid myself of this unwanted intrusion?

One or more of these might do the trick.
Goto the URL
opera://settings/startPage
and disable all of these:-
Show Speed Dial suggestions
-
Show Continue Shopping section
-
Show Continue on Booking.com section
-
Show news on start page
Then, goto the URL
opera://settings/privacy
and disable:-
Display promotional notifications
-
Receive promotional Speed Dials, bookmarks and campaigns
Then, in Opera's sidebar, if you see anything related to a Trip Advisor panel, right-click on it and hide it. Do the same thing for Amazon and "Tutorials" if you want.
Then, goto the URL
opera://extensions
and make sure you don't have any exensions that might be showing Trip Advisor. Then, at the right of the address field, click the extensions cube icon if its there and make sure there's no Trip Advisor icon listed there. If there is, see if you can right-click it and hide/remove it.
Then, on the start page, look next to Trip Advisor (or the strip of shopping stuff it might be on) to see if you can find an X or 3 horizontal dots or 3 vertical dots. They might be blending into the background a bit and can sometimes be hard to see. If one of those is there, click it and see if there's a hide option (with maybe a "don't show again" option).
Then, open the Windows Task Manager and see if there's an Opera Assistant process listed on the process tab. If there is, end task on it. Then, goto the Startup tab in the task manager and disable the assistant.
Then, goto the URL
opera://settings/siteData
, typetripadvisor.com
in the quick-find field and choose "remove all shown". -
