@georgesgoossens It's not possible to avoid history and bookmarks being suggested when you type in address bar.

There should be an alternative method when typing in the address bar. Because is irritating for many of us. Hopefully, it will be best in the future.

@kinemasterproapk Yes, this is a fairly bizarre and obvious oversight on the part of Opera. Seriously, how did they miss this one?
Hopefully they will rectify this in the future. It is extremely annoying.

@idave1066 yea sadly, this has been an issue since 2019, and they seem to not care about this.
What ticks me off the that there was a flag that you can disable to not suggest site from bookmarks, but its gone now.

btw, i dont know why but they blocked that topic link just yesterday cause i brought it up again. such sad moderators.
Imagine banning someone just because they want to highlight some words for you mods to read, and thinking its shouting, oof. -

@leocg ok, but clearly, people still find this as an issue since 2019 till this day right, so why isnt there a fix for it, oh wait, the flag that helped fix it is no longer available, so Opera really forces those bookmark suggestions to the address bar or something. ?

In 24.04.2022, links from speed dial; bookmarks and history, still pop-ups like advertisements. disturbing.

It can be frustrating when you're typing something into the address bar and your search history or bookmarks appear as suggestions. Fortunately, there are some simple steps you can take to prevent this from happening.
First, you can clear your browsing history and bookmarks. This can be done by clicking the "History" or "Bookmarks" menu in your browser, then selecting "Clear browsing data" and making sure the boxes for history, bookmarks, and other browsing data are checked.
Second, you can disable autocomplete in the address bar. This can be done by going to the settings menu in your browser, selecting the "Privacy & Security" tab, and then disabling the "Autocomplete URLs" option.
Finally, you can use a privacy-focused browser that doesn't track your browsing history or store bookmarks. These types of browsers are designed to protect your privacy and ensure that your search history and bookmarks don't appear as suggestions when typing in the address bar.
By following these steps, you can make sure that your search history and bookmarks don't interfere with your browsing experience.
