Blob_Storage File Size Ridiculously Large

I was looking at what files are taking up a lot of disk space and noticed that Opera GX's blob_storage file (AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera GX Stable\blob_storage) is almost 30 gig with 5 and half thousand files that are all exactly 5,444 KB. If I open them they just show the image I have set as the Opera GX background. Does anyone know if that's what is supposed to be in this folder and if there's a way to fix this? I suspect clearing the folder out would just be a temporary fix.

@sir-tachyon Here that folder uses 0 bytes and contais just one sub-folder with no files in it.
