[Solved] Recently Closed Tabs option does not work

  • @wotb said in Recently Closed Tabs option does not work:

Currently, the error seems to be fixed, so I don't think there is a big problem writing Opera.

It's not fixed here, there's not even the option in the right click menu to reopen last closed tab that used to exist. So hardly fixed when the menu is now totally missing the option.

  • @jaknet Right click on the tab bar and you will see it. Or use the tabs search button.

  • @leocg Sorry but I've been using the right click method to access the reopen last closed tab for ages now and there is NO option for this any more right click

Please underline the reopen last closed tab in this image taken 2 mins ago as I sure as hell cannot see it. There's no "reopen tab" only the "reopen last closed window"

  • @jaknet Here it says Reopen Last Closed Tab

  • @leocg Where is this "here"?
    Cheers

  • @leocg said in Recently Closed Tabs option does not work:

@user457 Ctrl + Shift + T here opens the last closed tab. Try resetting keyboard shortcuts.

its work for me. The same issue is happened to me. Now fixed. Thanks mod

  • @jaknet Here, in my Opera installation of course.

  • @leocg that doesn't help without an image to show, and as my image shows the option isn't shown in the menu anymore

  • @jaknet I`ve checked again today and now Opera Stable shows Reopen Last Closed Window

However, Opera Beta and Opera developer correctly shows Reopen Last Closed Tab

Anyway, they are working on a fix,

  • @leocg Glad to hear they are working on a fix as this has been an issue on Opera Stable for me for a while.

    Thank you for the updates

  • When I do Ctrl + Shift + T, a new window opens instead of the last closed tab. Moreover, the page opened in that window is not the last closed page. I checked the shortcuts in settings, no problem appears. But the problem persists, I couldn't solve it. This problem has existed for the past few weeks, I wonder if anyone knows the solution?

  • Now, on the place of this item, when you right-click the tab, there is only Reopen last closed window. Opera 76.0.4017.123
    What happened here?

  • It's just a known bug that's being analyzed and worked on. Hopefully we'll see a fix soon.

same problem. Should I wait for a fix? Or will it be the same as creating scoped_dir *** folders? ignored for several years

  • At last this is fixed in the menu.

Now got the correct "Reopen Last Closed Tab" instead of the "Last Window" in the right click menu.

Not sure when this actually happened, but I noticed it was back and working correctly yesterday (22/05/2021)

    Thank you for fixing this.

  • Suddenly all is good here with respect to this problem! There was not even an Opera update. How did that happen? Can/does Opera correct their software even without an update?

I am using Opera on Linux/Chromebook.

    🙂

    UPDATE:

Well, it was working briefly this morning after performing this command in Linux Terminal " sudo apt update && sudo apt dist-upgrade ", and then it reverted to the broken/troubled state as described in this thread after closing Opera and then reopening Opera later. Very strange!

    UPDATE 2:

It seems after closing and reopening Opera, the problem returns. If I run this command in Linux Terminal " sudo apt update && sudo apt dist-upgrade " after closing Opera and before reopening Opera, there is no problem with respect to Recently Closed Tabs displaying properly in Opera.

  • It's been fine for me this weekend.
Just saw your message, and wanted the check again, to see if it was magically fixed...and it didn't work properly :))
For some reason it happens less often, but I can't pinpoint why.

  • 20 days and still with the same problem. I don't understand how it can take so long to fix something that worked well for a long time.

  • After the upgrade to 76.0.4017.94, the Recently Closed Tabs function is not working fine. It only shows some closed tabs but not all. It's like after a certain time, the list of tabs stops updating.

  • It seems now the key to making Recently Closed Tabs work properly in the current stable version of Opera 76 is to initiate a new window from within Opera.

Once in the new window, Recently Closed Tabs are accessible via the magnifying-glass icon in the Tab Bar (Control-Space), the History Sidebar (Control-H), and also via the Main Menu (Alt, H).

So, in summary the workaround for now is simply this: open a new window.

    Update:

This only works sometimes for me ... Opera really has a weird bug here.
