Opera freezing, impossible to use anymore

I’ve been using Opera for a year now, with comfort and ease. All the sudden that seems to be over. I open Opera, go in one tab, scroll is delayed, go to an other tab and it freezes. I’ve open/closed several times. I’ve restarted the computer. I have to “force quit” because it does not let me quit any other way, in the force quit menu it does not appear as “non responsive”. I did not open anything I don’t usually open. I’ve ran a virus and malware scan, no change (note I do need keep those on my computer and had to install them to run the scan - so that’s not it. In Activity Monitor - CPU I can see Opera using up to 135% and I see a few dozen Opera Helper (Renderer); a few showing high levels, most showing low levels. I can not follow any of the steps advised by the moderator here before posting because once I’ve been in a tab and want to reach an other tab it freezes and there’s just nothing I can do. I did not make any change; no updates of any kind, no clean ups of any kind... and did not install anything new either

The only thing I did was log into my Opera account on Opera Touch on my iPad.

My Opera version 74.0
Mac OS 10.15.7
