Hello all,
Does somebody know how to turn off for good the annoying Dailymail floating window ?
I did not find any extension like "DM no autoplay" to terminate this bothering intrusion.
Thank you for your help.

Hi there,
I know of a Chrome extension from the Chrome Web Store which you could use. I have linked it below.
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/mcafee-web-boost/klekeajafkkpokaofllcadenjdckhinmThis is the McAfee Web Boost extension for Chromium browsers. Because this item is from the Chrome Web Store, you will be prompted to install an extension which will allow you to install extensions from the Chrome Web Store. You will have to install this extension. This is a quick and easy process.
Next, click the Add to Opera button. Once you have clicked this, you may be prompted to give this extension extra permissions. Rest assured, this is completely normal.
Once you have added the extension to the Opera browser, you will need to find it. In the top right of your browser, near to the address bar, there should be a cube icon. This is where all of your extensions belong. Click on this, and find the McAfee Web Boost extension.
Go through the setup menu.
Now that everything has been installed properly, you should not find that videos are automatically playing. This should take effect for all websites, including the Daily Mail. There may be times where you need to activate the extension. Just go to the Extensions Menu (the cube icon) and find McAfee Web Boost and enable it. This should not happen very often.
Hope this helps - please feel free to keep me updated with any issues you may have or if you need clarification with the instructions!

Hi Oliver,
Thank you for your time and your valuable IT skills.
I followed your instructions and unfortunately, this extension does not do the job on my Opera browser.
I do not know if there is something to do because I use Linux but the fact is this extention does not work with me.
Anyway, thank you for your kind assistance.
Best regards,

@tifoli You could try using the Opera Extensions Menu instead rather than the Chrome Web Store?
Navigate to the Opera menu (the Opera icon which should be found at the top left of your browser) and click Extensions. Then, in the Extensions window, click Get More Extensions. You could now search for something like "auto play" or "McAfee Web Boost".
If this fails, then I cannot think of any more things to try with the Opera browser. Therefore, you should use Google Chrome and download the McAfee Web Boost extension from the Chrome Web Store: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/mcafee-web-boost/klekeajafkkpokaofllcadenjdckhinm
It is unfortunate that you may not be able to use Opera for websites with auto play such as the Daily Mail.
Thank you for your comment and please feel free to notify me of any findings!

Hello again Oliver,
Thank you again for your assistance and reply.
I tried to find an "autoplay terminator" on Opera but did not find anything because most of them are about Youtube.
Nothing about DM (DailyMail.co.uk) !
To read DM, I will follow your advice by switching to Chromium or Chrome, with a heavy preference for Chromium.
I will let you know about my user experience with this McAfee extension.
Again, thank you for your concern.
Best regards,
