Bookmarks not being recommend on address bar

The idea with bookmarks, beside flagging a webside, is that the browser should look though the lot of them and recommend it to the address bar for fast search and navigation. But this hasn't been working for me in Opera on 3 different Win10 computers over the last 5-6 month. 2 of these 3 computers are recently reinstalled.
Very annoying and tiresome … so what's wrong? Can't see there's a flag missing anywhere. -
