Messenger in sidebar doesn't show who wrote new messages

Hi,
I'm using Opera 73.0.3856.257 on Win 10 and for about a week or two there was some kind of change to the sidebar messenger. Since then whenever i get a new message on messenger i see the red dot on the messenger icon, but when i open the sidebar messenger i don't see who wrote to me. Before there was an blue background telling me in which conversations i have unread messages, but now there is no background. Anyone had a simillar problem, or maybe even a solution?

I've been having the same issue for about as long as you too. Even switched back over to Opera GX and it's still the same issue. This isn't the only issue that new update ruined for me either, there's many others and I've been seeing that others are having the same issues as well.
