Opera Mini (for Android) won't complete installation

  • After updating my Opera Mini via Google Play, the installation repeatedly fails to complete; always hanging at the white screen with the red progress bar and "Installing..." indication at the bottom of the screen (see first screenshot attached).

    After a long while the screen goes dark with the indication that my network services need to be checked. I don't know how or why this should be so when my phone network service and office WAN-WLAN service are both robust enough for all other browsers in my phone to work (Opera browser for Android, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox fir Android and the default Samsung browser).

    The Opera browser doesn't sync ny bookmarks etc even though it works with Opera Mini on my PC and other Symbian phone so I know for sure that this updated Opera Mini as an app or update has a problem and not my phone.

    I included a screenshot which I mailed to support@opera.com but got a reply that support isn't offered via email and I had to use the online service of Opera to report my issue. This forum I noticed does not allow for attachment of files (hoped to share my screenshot), but I guess my message above is clear enough.
