Opera won't open since OS update.

Hey all. I recently updated the OS on my MacBook Pro and since then Opera doesn't open. I uninstalled, and tried to reinstall, but the installer also gives the same error message:

The application “Opera Beta.app” can’t be opened.

I tried to avoid the installer, and went to the full download of the beta version, but it still says same thing. I realise this may not be an Opera issue (especially since no one else seems the have the problem), but I can't find any solution through the normal channels so thought I'd ask here. Thanks in advance.
