Operamail 1.0 (standalone) speed - sometimes there are delays?

Sometimes there are delays in Operamail 1.0 like I press a key and about a second later it appears on the screen. Same with scrolling as I remember. Its intermittent. I'll check Task Manager or Process Explorer next time to see if anything is using lots of resources. But nothing resource heavy was running at the time as I remember. This has happened several times. Right now its fine.

It's too bad when Opera can't fix the HTML email color in this Opera Mail 1.0. I can not choose the default font color for every new html email!
Switching back to Opera suite 12 now.. -

If Opera is checking the mail server or feed page for messages, that can sometimes slow up the UI till the checking it complete.
Does it happen after searching?
Anything else on your computer accessing the drive really hard at the time?
Do you have any labels that have rules? Any of them search the body of messages? Any of them use regex rules?
How old is your install of Opera Mail (the mail folder and its database etc.)? If you've been using the mail folder for years, there could be corruption that is causing slow downs. Hard to tell.

Is there a way of replying back to a specific person without copying and pasting their original post? There is no Reply button anywhere it seems here like on most every forum.

Yes indeed. I clicked the X on the right to stop all that and it worked.
I've never noticed this before with the mail system in the Opera browser. I have several IMAP accounts. I wonder if IMAP is more of a resource hog than POP? -

In regards to searching, there should be any difference.

You can close down Opera and delete the lexicon folder in the mail folder. When Opera starts up, that will rebuild the search index. Whether or not that will cure the problem, I don't know. But, it'll at least make sure the search index isn't messed up.

This forum uses markdown where you just quote stuff with > at the beginning of a line. Click the red Markdown link for more info.
So, if you see some text that you want to quote, select it and hit the " link next to the gear for the post the text is in and it'll add it quoted in the text field. As of right now though, it doesn't include the user name of the person that posted the text you quoted, but that's just a minor thing.

Great news. In Operamail 1.0 Preferences for my IMAP accounts I tried unchecking "Check for new messages every #minutes" and its so great now. I still get my messages instantly like before. I guess it was checking my webmail folders in case there was activity elsewhere and was updating to bring up my machine with any others but since I use just one machine, this is unnecessary. This is wonderful. Back to normal. I would highly recommend this to others.

Instead of turning off "check for new messages every...", you should set it to 30 minutes. If you don't IDLE (that pushes messages to you instantly) will eventually time out and you won't get any new messages until you manually check or maybe restart Opera.
