Opera GX opening everything in new tabs

I have been using this browser for over 2 years now and never had this problem since last week. Any link or picture that i click is automatically opening in a new tab. I've tried to disable it in options, but I couldn't find this possibility. I also tried restoring settings and reinstalling the browser. I've looked for anwser on other forums but it seems no one had this problem. Any ideas on how to make it stop opening verything in new tab? It doesn't make Opera unusable but it makes it pretty anoying, at least for me.

@leocg Microsoft Edge is working fine, same with Chrome.
I dowloaded an extension for Opera "Remove target_blank", it blocks the automatic opening in new tabs but still allows doing it manually, and it seems to be working for now.
