Opera Always active and draining battery

I'm on the newest version and opera is my number one battery killer. Is it possible to deactivate opera when it's running it background without always deactivating the process manual in energy options?

You need to enable the battery saver located right next to the search and address field. Also, please disable the notifications about updates, recommendations, and usage reporting.

@ryanb Opera Mini doesn't have the battery saver feature.
