white box behind the notification alerts on windows 10

recently I've been trying to fix the white box behind the notification alerts on windows 10.

I saw some threads from 2016 telling me to alter the launcher.visualelementsmanifest.xml file,
that broke the notifications entirely, if they weren't broken already. (notifications are not always showing up)

I've tried re-installing didn't do much, now I can't even uninstall/re-install anymore.

Any advice would be appreciated.
