yeah thats right i agree the opera 22 working perfectly but the last update opera 23 ITS NOT GOOD..........PLEASE FIX IT OR I USE ANOTHER BROWSER..BUT I LIKE OPERA AND....FIX THAT GOD DAM WHAT IS GOING ON...AND VERY BIG PROBLEM IS AUTOUPDATE ,NOWHERE IS THE QUESTION FOR USING UPDATE ..ONLY AUTOMATICLY..THAT THE SECOND PROBLEM...FIX IT..LAST OPERA 23 IS NOT WORK GOOD LIKE OPERA 22..............................................FIX THAT

No, you don't. It's called snap. Move the window all the way to the right/left and it snaps to half screen. Move the window to the top, it snaps to full screen. Drag anywhere else and it snaps to the user predefined size. Usually I have that size set to quarter screen. The method you're promoting requires me to lose my quarter screen snap and set it to almost full screen (without actually being full screen) just so I can get my taskbar to not be blocked by the browser. Which means that any time I want a mix of full screen windows and quarter size windows, I have to manually resize each window, every time, for what I need it to be. Which means, constant fiddling that only proves to be annoying. So NO, you don't have to resize it only once using the method your pushing. You have to do it constantly. So again, NO, your method is not preferable. For me, backdating just "ONE" update fixes the issue and means I don't have to deal with all the hassles and annoyance inherent to the "Workaround" you're "PEDDLING". I am not going to be at any risk using one version older than current.
Why don't you ask any number of people who know windows inside and out if it's preferable to use windows auto-update just so they can say they are on the latest version of windows. If you knew anything about windows update history, you would know it's not always a good thing. There has been a lot of instances where auto-updates caused far more damage than good. Thanks to Windows, there's now a term in the industry for it. They're called Rogue Updates. That's why most people in the IT field, turn off auto-update in windows and only do periodic bulk updates when they know there are no current issues with any of the windows updates.

Same problem here. Downgrading in a few minutes to v22. It's very annoying not to be able to go outside windows without using the windows button. I really liked the new heart menu in v23, ah well, I'll wait.
Edit: Pfff, downgrading isn't a fine solution either. It will upgrade automatically to v23, and meanwhile your search engines and profile is messed up. Can't find the disable auto update, must be somewhere. Grr...
Edit2: "C:\Program Files (x86)\OperaN\launcher.exe" --disable-update should work, but it doen'st. I'm done here, will use chrome for a while until it's fixed.

I hightlighted the issue for the search extensions not working in 22 because they've updated them for 23. Doesn't bother me as I have the actual google page as my home page. As for the updater, just block it with your firewall. Allow the Opera Browser to access the internet, but block the opera updater and it will prevent it from updating.

Same here... the juarez solution is not a solution nor is installing a previuos version (which I did both before reading this 3d).
But, it's kinda relief that I'm not alone which means that it is not a problem within my system (I spent two days looking into it) after that I filed a bug report.
The silliness of the problem make it even more annoying!
I'm sure they will sort this out very soon... let's hanging on! Love Opera!

Having this same issue as well.
I think it's interesting to note that prior to the most recent update, Opera was having kind of the exact opposite problem. Sometimes it would get "stuck" in the background, and could never come to the foreground.My guess is that some clever dev decided the best solution to that would be to ensure it's ALWAYS in the foreground when in use...and didn't think of the consequences to that change.

Just don't use Opera, and you won't have to always follow theirs whims. This browser went dead on Opera 12.

Why not?! It was the best browser ever, when it was 12. It just needed rendering functionality from chromium. But now it doesn't differs from any other browser, but Chrome doesn't have this bugs. What makes Opera unique not?

Are you really that desperate for everyone to agree with you? I don't care which solution you chose. Whatever works best for you, works best for you and that's fair enough. But not everyone is going to agree with you. And I was one of the ones that didn't agree with your solution. You kept arguing your points, which I only gave differing points that showed that for me, your solution was not satisfactory, for me. I wasn't arguing for everyone. I was only arguing from my side. I don't have to agree for everyone, because I am not the center of the universe and I'm not everyone else. So no, I don't have to admit anything just so you make yourself feel good about you wanting to be right. I will not speak for everybody else. I will only speak for my needs. Your solution doesn't work for me. If it works for others, then great. I'm glad they are happy with your fix. I've only offered a different solution (it's not even my solution, just a common sense solution) for people who find that solution unsatisfactory. It's not either of our places to fight for any one solution and push it on to others. You put your solution up. I put mine up. It's up to them to decide which is best for them. Because in the end, both solutions are only temporary until the next update that fixes the issue gets released. That's the way I see it and I'm not willing to entertain such a useless argument any further.

@kime87 I still use 12.14 (with M2) exclusively on Windows and Linux. Even on Android 12.16 is my most used browser, though I do try others just to see how they compare, but still return to Opera 12.16 because for me, it's just better.
But posting what you wrote above won't make a tiny bit of difference (other than putting your view across) as Opera has chosen the path it wishes to take and we either embrace it and offer constructive feedback towards it's future or move on to pastures new.
Me, I'm sitting on the side line seeing how things progress, and depending on the outcome will eventually make my choice (whatever that choice may be), once, and only once 12.14 no longer works for what I need it for.

Same problem. I can tolerate hitting the Windows button, but it's not a very elegant solution. Opera (to me) has always been "all about the easy" and I think this really should get addressed by the Opera development team.

The same goes for me, I've used to long. Sometimes Opera 12 due to rendering problem cause whole OS to hang. A week ago I moved to Opera 22, cause there were too many freezes on some sites during using of 12. And 22th Opera was the final reason go gave up on Opera browsers. I got here just to solve issue with nav bar hiding, as Web developer I still tests sites under Opera too, but browser of choice has changes for me. And due to lack of some functionality I'm still trying to get used to Chrome, still better then Opera 22.
Opera 12 was so much good, that I wouldn't understand that if it wasn't discontinued. -
