There could be no Opera for Linux, because Microsoft want you to buy Windows ! They have money enough to buy some influence on opera, which makes them to wait until you give up and buy Windows. If you do the opera will issue a GX version for Linux. Well, would you like to wait longer that others do ?

@creedboydc We will know when they release a Linux version. Or if they say something about it at some point.

@leocg Seriously, it took 5 seconds to translate from Portuguese. Not a big deal in 2021. He was likely reading a translated site and isn't a fluent English speaker. That doesn't mean his input should be invalidated.
I would think that considering that Opera GX is used worldwide, it would be expected in a forum. I'm a Linux user, so I'm used to being edged out, but one would think that a company like Opera would value input from its international users as much as domestic users. How many languages do you speak?
If it's that big of a problem, you can always put a translation widget in your
post/content
components. Here's a link to a Geeks for Geeks post that should help. -

@leocg ok, if you want i'm speak in english ok, just a second, ohh, here, i found a intresting site, google.com/translate, so i going to use it and translate for you:
I think the only thing that still holds me to windows is opera GX, I think it's very useful, beautiful and essential, I think nowadays I would hardly change browsers, and I really wanted Opera GX to be made available on linux
sorry, didn't see a warning who couldn't speak in portuguese here and I didn't expect your enormous desire to be a moderator

Hello Opera team!
I would like to ask you a question, will Opera GX be available for Linux devices, just like the original Opera browser? I am asking since I tried Opera GX on my Windows laptop, and it was by far the best browser ever, because of the features, Discord support and the appearance. However, my laptop was slow, having an older processor and a low rpm HDD drive, so I bought a Chromebook, and Opera works just fine on it, but I wished that there would be at least Discord integration. In addition, there are many users using Linux, so I think it would be good for Opera GX to work on Linux. Even if you announced that it would be here by 2025 or 2030, I would be happy. I am not going to protest and demand for it, since that would be rude and I know how hard it is, making a whole new browser, bringing it out of Early Access hoping there aren't any bugs, and then having to face another group of people asking for more, putting more stress and decision on the company. For such an innovative company, I hope you will at least try to bring support for Linux. However, your other browsers are wonderful, so I hope you will keep it up !
Thanks
HarisP.S. If that is not possible can you please try to integrate Discord in the sidebar of Opera?

First 2022 reply... Has development even started? Are Opera developers working on this at all? I'd like at least some update on what's going on. I don't even care if it's not done, I want to know if it is at least being actively developed or worked on... I know it's difficult to be done with something in a short time, I'm a victim of that myself, I just want to know if it is being worked on currently, or by someone. I've used Opera GX when I still used Windows, but had to go to Linux, and now I can't use my favorite browser. I'm currently using normal Opera because it has features I like personally, but man, Opera GX is just too good not to port over to Linux!
TL;DR: I want to know if Opera GX for Linux's development has started, or if it has been discontinued.
