I've submitted bug report to Opera's bug tracking system. BS-12308
        Let's see what they'll say

@rejuvenator Thanks for advice, maybe I'll try it in the near future 🙂

@d216 They won't say nothing, most probably. In fact there is a high chance that it will just be marked as a duplicate.

                Hi,

I disabled "Use hardware acceleration when available" under Settings/Advanced/System and was able to get rid of that white strip 🙂 I haven't checked yet if disabling hw acceleration causes slow performance when surfing.

What worked for me was simply going to display settings, change the resolution of your monitor to whichever option, and then hit revert. Hope this helps 🙂

This bug affects even Opera 83.0.4254.54 running natively on Wayland on Gnome and KDE Plasma. Is Opera developers aware of this old bug?

I know it's an old topic, but I found one reliable solution to those unwanted bits on the screen.. Add 'UBlock' to the extensions.. Right click the trouble spot, and create the block for it..

im not using linux, but i notice with opera every time I choose force dark themes on websites, this white strips appear on youtube videos and other web videos when they go into full screen, all i did was turn this option of and it sorted it for me.

Sorry if its late, but if it helps.

@hammersutd1983 nope youre on time its still there. You know it is so much time has passed... For a long of those years... My country is now struggling against russian aggression. It is has passed over 2 years, even bug tracker ticket got. But for over 2 years this bug is living in opera on linux. You know... Even my company, I'm working for, it is has banned opera. I'm tired of waiting for this bug to be solved.

Bloody hell I was looking it up as I just noticed this recently myself. I know this is for Linux, but it's also happening on Windows too.

@hungryhungryhippos I have never seen white strip in Opera on different Windows systems (Win7, Win10, Win11). It is only Linux feature or bug. Other browsers (Chrome, Firefox) don't show this white strip.

Got the same issue running windows 10, newest opera update and only when watching videos through opera such as youtube.

White vertical line follows position of curser until curser passes border of video frame then remains at which ever side the curser was last at. one occasion I used hmdi output to tv and when i moved the curser to second screen the white line jumped from the edge of the video frame to the center of video frame until curser was brought back on to the same monitor screen that the video was playing on..

Any ideas yet how to fix?
