[Solved]Opera does not enable GPU in any stable or beta version

  • I have tried several variants of Opera, but it does not enable the dedicated Radeon 520 Notebook GPU, using only Intel. I've done the procedure of including the browser in the GPU drivers as in the windows panel.

  • Go to Opera://GPU.

    Then go to Opera://Flags, search for GPU, disable Blacklist.

    Try again.

  • @zalex108 Already tried to enable disable Blacklist had no effect. I have now tested Opera GX also does not enable GPU. The problem started after upgrading to Windows 1909

    I did a clean install of windows and unsuccessfully operates does not enable dedicated notebook GPU

  • If happens on other browsers, search that bug on Google and / or report it to Microsoft / (Radeon / nVidia).

  • Can you test in Plain Chromium, Chrome and Vivaldi to see what they do?

    Chrome, Vivaldi and Edge chromium work perfectly,
    in fact the problem is only with Opera variants

  • Make sure Opera's battery saver is off.

    Also, did you try checking in the AMD driver settings to see if you can set launcher.exe and opera.exe to use the GPU (and turn off power savings there etc.). Was wondering after looking through https://www.google.com/search?q=chrome+not+using+discrete+gpu.

    Can you try older versions of Opera to see if it's all Opera version or just the recent ones?

  • @burnout426 It is an intriguing problem, it is not the battery saver mode, already disabled, both in windows and Opera.
    Yes already tried for in the settings of AMD I was unsuccessful. I will test older variants of Opera to test

    I was able to solve ... instead of putting Launcher.exe I put Opera.exe in GPU options
