rx-3200 about 3 hours ago
so on youtube it still eat 70-99% cpu and ~100% gpu
(it begin in Opera 65 and still not fixed)but not sure which windows he uses..
To me it still high usage but not as high as rx-3200 's also i disagree with the opera 65 part
started in oper 64 lol

Yes,
Remember it because of that user.Somewhere read it's related to a W7 bug, but there didn't had responses, so I'm asking here to assure it.
Also,
I've asked days ago on Dev's build Blog whether is related but no one answered.We will see if the affected users does.

@zalex108 this bug is no more for a few weeks now, but I can't remember which update solved it. And it is Windows 10 - updated.

Hi, Starting with Opera 65.0.3467.62 Stable, the fix was DNA-82626 [Win] High CPU usage due to media indicator animation.
But, sometimes I came across this bug after this fix. Win 7x64 -

tested the new Opera Developer 68.0.3590.0 @ Utube
gpu was a little high until ya hover mouse over the speaker Animation
then it drops a lot, esp if ya mute it for a moment then un - mute leave 'n mouse hover 'n..
when click 'n PIP - i notice the gpu was lots better while watch 'n a video even tho lack 'n a few things..
so to me watch 'n vids is lots better on gpu use 'n the popout !..

Since new PIP just playa on the PopUp the equalizer becomes inactive.
That way I can watch and browse.

@zalex108 I found that on a clean profile this problem is not. On the old profile, this problem sometimes occurs, but on the clean profile it is not at all.

Then, I'll try here also.
I don't know where to search to find the solution.A Profile rebuild will be needed.
If you try copy pasting files, you may find the problematic file.
I doubt I'll dedicate all that amount of time to do it.

@zalex108 I have found the difference. In my case, a youtube video consumed 2-3 times more CPU resources than usual if I searched for this video directly through the address bar with the
opera:flags/#reborn-3-dropdownflag turned off. If this flag is enabled, everything is fine. This is strange, but I checked several times. -

Checked it again. Yes, you're right, I still have this problem with media indicator animation on Win 7.
And there's a feature. If the "Aero" theme is turned off in Win 7, there is a difference in CPU resources usage when watching video in Chrome and Opera, but it is insignificant. If the "Aero" theme is turned on, the difference is very noticeable.
If you put the mouse cursor over the indicator, there is no difference in Chrome and Opera. -

A user posted months ago, that the problem is related to W7.
Since now is just supported on Business environment, I don't expect a fix.
I don't know if happens on W10 too.
You can use PiP to avoid the animated icon or change the Browser.
There are Free VPN extensions and Apps/Services out there.
