Any way to enable private browsing by default?

Hey,
I tried the command line edit " -newprivatetab" but it does not work. No private browsing on opening opera or a new tab within the browser. History is still being recorded. I can't find any extension that enables private browsing either.

Are you talking about Opera 22? If so, I can't do what you want, but if you have Windows 7, here's an idea.
Drag your Opera 22 start icon to the Windows 7 taskbar at the bottom of the Home Screen. It's that long horizontal bar where you can pin favorite programs for easy one-click access. Now if you do what I suggested, if you right click on the Opera icon on the task bar, one of the options is New Private Window. If you want to always have Opera open in private mode, just get used to opening Opera by right clicking on the Opera icon on the taskbar, and then clicking on New Private Window.
For Opera 12.17, you can do something similar, and start it by right clicking and choosing New Private tab (not Private Window which is not an option). The problem there is that when you select another tab, you will end up with a non-private tab, unless you carefully select from the Opera 12.17 menu there, New Private tab. Clicking on the plus sign on the tab bar in Opera 12.17, just gets you a non-private tab.
