      Dear All.

I'm really happy to announce that Opera 22 final is live! Here is the changelog for this update:

      • Introduced swipe gestures in tab manager
      • Added possibility to re-open recently closed tabs
      • New design for some UI elements
      • Improvements for Discover section
      • Improvements for downloads
      • Fixed issue with downloading bigger files
      • Chromium version update to 35
      • Various stability and usability improvements (includes one nasty crash introduced in 22 beta)

Update is now available on Google Play store and will be available shortly on our servers. Please go and check it out and report your feedback as usuall!

Take care and have a nice summer!

Hi, nice release but there has been an issue with logging into vBulletin (Planetsuzy ;p) sites. Correct username and password not allowing login. I know this is more of a Chromium issue as the same thing happens with Google Chrome for android but are you guys aware of it and\or have had discussions with Chromium developers with it to fix it?

        Thanks.

OMG... I HATE v22 for this simple reason...
You need to give us the option to NOT autoplay embedded videos, and/or allow us to disable full screen autoplay!

If I open a page with an embedded video as a new tab in background, the last thing I want is for that video to autoplay, much less autoplay in full screen using the built in android video player, taking over the screen, with no easy way to kill it other than hitting back multiple times.

This new "feature"/behavior is driving me nuts to where I just want to throw the damned phone across the room every time it does this.

          Thanks!

tenchi71, we don't autoplay videos, that is controlled by the sites. We try to avoid letting videos to autoplay when the tab is in background, apparently there is some case on the site you visit that we don't catch properly, could you provide us the address to it?

The automatic full screen, is something we have added for convenience. We are aware of some problems connected with it -- and I really understand your frustration if it auto-starts in full screen from a background tab. That is definitely not intended behavior!

Let's don't have access to clear downloads from notification until they are complete.

No problems since the update, thanks. The new swipe up to close tabs makes the operation of the browser much faster.

Please don't remove the auto-fullscreen feature, this is one more reason you're better than Chrome! 🙂

An option to block video and audio streams from auto-playing is almost becoming a need though, as ads already started to abuse that...

The XDA developers forums is a really good test for auto play ads. It really is annoying when it keeps launching full screen.

How to download opera for android tablet without google play? I could do it directly from main opera page until v19 but don't see anything now.

                          I have to test further.

Can the tab close gesture be updated to include swiping downward to close? Sometimes swiping up doesn't work as when a tab leaves the list of open tabs, it just falls back into the tab window like a bouncing ball instead of closing.

It would be awesome if the next Opera for Android update has improved tab closing gestures.

@ngamer01 As a matter of curiosity, are you using the phone UI layout with the navigation bar and tabs at the top?

@rafaelluik Classic layout. URL bar is at the top and the nav/tabs at the bottom.

I'm using the Samsung Exhilarate i577 with Android version 4.0.4.

I disabled all spyware Google apps from my tablet and also wonder why this change for the worse (no direct links) was done.

Blocking ads. Does anyone have a recommened method?

I am coming from Opera 12 which used urlfilter.ini but it seems I can't configure Opera that way now (and Opera 12 runs laggy on my tablet which is the reason I upgraded to 22.

                                        acqqui:
if your tablet is rooted, use adaway.
if not, use ad block plus.
they aren't in the play store, so you'll need to google for them.
ad blockers however will not work when off-road, turbo, opera mini, or opera max are in use.

I have the same problem with videos autplay. I did put in the address www.gamersglobal.de for example and immediately a video started to play in full screen mode. I couldn't even access the tab bar anymore and had to close browser.
