I use adblock so have no problems with ads or popups, but I get "service unavailable" error at times. But even when it works fine, whats the point of an extension that does nothing but just opening downloading website??? I can do it without installing any extensions... Another drawback is time it takes to load the page an process the request.

Crap, when you click download option it takes you to an ad, this is ok with me but i didnt even download the file its just a click download ad popup, wait and repeat.

How to use this addon???
(1). Install the Addon
(2). Click the cube box in the top right corner and pin this addon (so that the addon is visible in the browser tab)
(3). Play any video on youtube, click the addon icon in the top right corner to download. (Available MP4 and MP3)

this add-on automatically leads to scamming sites, the mp3 file of a 3-minute song I downloaded was only 74 KBs and can't be played

In fact there is no hassle free downloader for YT available for Opera. I too use ad-block and other stuff to block all. What I do when I want to DL a clip from YT is what I told b4: use the AVG browser and literally DL just any YT clip you want, since the browser has a default built-in YT downloader.

I was just wondering, this since I just checked and have the latest version (v1.14). How come there is no update of this version since 2018 ? I mean 4 years without an update ? All this while google-youtube have done their best to avoid ppl from downloading clips from YT.

@jimbop: I have proposed this addon update several times but it has not been published by the opera team. And why is this addon still working great? Updates are carried out continuously on the backend. Basically this addon is updated on the backend without changing and adding versions of this addon.

@jimbop: I'm not sure the analogy is right or wrong, but the update is done without changing or adding any code on the user side, but on the downloader page and converter API.

As some random dude on the internet, I feel like I should leave a short review based on some of the comments I've seen here.
This extension works great. It does exactly what it promised, it converts YouTube videos into MP3(or even MP4) format so you can add to whatever music player you like. As recommended by the developer, I have Ad Block on so I'm not bombarded by ads like some people complain. Downloads are quick enough and work fine. I've also got my antivirus software running scans and everything comes down clean. Honestly, this works perfectly fine and I am grateful to the dev for making this a one-click extension. To everyone complaining: You are getting free songs that you would normally have to pay for, so maybe choose your battles better.
